Bandgap control of metamaterial beam using magnetorheological elastomers
Main Article Content
Abstract
To tune the bandgap of metamaterials without changing their beam structures, we designed a new metamaterial beam structure based on a magnetorheological elastomer. The metamaterial beam model with a magnetorheological elastomer was established using the finite element method, and the band gap position and transmission curve of the metamaterial beam structure under the external magnetic field were demonstrated. The results show that the band gap of the metamaterial beam can be greatly adjusted with the external magnetic field and by changing the geometric parameters of the structure.
