Review on guided hypervelocity projectiles
Main Article Content
Abstract
Hypervelocity projectile (HVP) is a type of generalized multitask guided projectile with a low drag force. It can be used in electromagnetic railguns and traditional powder guns with different calibers. It also offers several advantages, including high initial velocity, long range, and great power. However, many technical problems emerge in the actual research and development process, and relevant equipment has yet to be established. Hence, this topic is worthy of in-depth study. The current work elaborates the research status and technical characteristics of foreign multitype guided projectiles from the perspectives of launching mode, ensemble technology, guidance technology, and damage mode. The key technology restricting the development of HVP is also highlighted. Moreover, the development trend of HVP is summarized on the basis of the analysis of the current technology status.
