A welding numerical simulation method based on shell-solid element hybrid modeling technology
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study developed a hybrid shell-solid element modeling method for numerical simulations of welding processes to overcome the challenges of low efficiency in solid element models and low precision in shell element models. The shell element model, solid element model, and shell-solid hybrid model were used to simulate welding temperature fields, and thermal-coupled responses of structures, and the computational efficiency of temperature and stress fields were compared and analyzed. The shell-solid element hybrid model not only accurately calculated welding temperature fields and structural responses but was also efficient. This welding simulation modeling method represents a topic for further study.
