A survey on ship position mooring control technology

Abstract

The ship position mooring system is one of the indispensable installments for marine resources development. It can solve the problem of ship positioning operations in a complicated ocean environment and improve maneuverability of ships, while operational safety is guaranteed and energy consumption is reduced. This paper firstly introduces the composition and working principle of the position mooring system, as well as the establishment of system model, application scenarios and corresponding limitations, and finally, summarizes the research on position mooring technology at home and abroad, classifies the research status of the control strategy, discusses future development direction and trend of the position mooring technology. It is pointed out that horizontal and vertical development of applicable scenarios, unmanned and intelligent control, and multi-task-oriented requirements are the directions for further development of position mooring technology.
